What to Expect
Topics range from what to expect on your first visit to how to plan follow-up visits. Check out our FAQs to find content related to common concerns.
-
What is my first step?
-
Be sure we have your contact information filled out on our contact page, as well as taken advantage of our free behavioral quiz! From there, we will contact you to set up a free 15 minute consultation by phone. If you would like to be proactive, simply message or call us at (214) 814-0826
-
What happens during my pet's intake?
-
Intake sessions last up to one hour. At that time, Dr. Mandy will conduct a series of thorough assessments. A treatment plan will be made. This will include an outline of your pet's concerns and develop a course of action! Sessions are holistic and may address nutrition, hormones/pheromones, supplements, behavioral medication, and/or intervention steps.
-
How is my pet treated in your care?
-
We uphold a rigorous standard for ethical and humane treatment of all animals. During our care, your pet is checked multiple times throughout the day for wellness, behavioral balance, and overall happiness! We do NOT approve of using shock collars, or severe verbal/physical reprimanding. We believe there are more effective ways to communicate with your pet! Let us teach you The Gentle Ways!
-
How do I schedule follow up sessions?
-
You will be given a link to The Gentle Way's Member's Only calendar that will service your area after your intake. From there, you will be in control of scheduling or canceling your appointments. Please note, that there is a "no show" fee if no prior contact has been made and the appointment is broken. This will result in a session being deducted from your program.
-
When will I see results?
-
Of course, being individuals, pets all respond differently and at different rates according to past experiences, genetics, environment, and other factors. Typically, clients see results as soon as the first session or by day 2 of the board and train option!
-
How do I know you're a real non-profit?
-
We are an IRS and Guidestar verified non-profit. Our full disclosure is listed below in "financials." Please note we DBA as "The Gentle Ways" under the non-profit Meyk K9.
-
How are my donations used?
-
Our top causes have been and always will be to help end euthanasia and provide medical care, and housing for our community's animals. Your donations contribute to these causes! Additionally, donations may be used to fund operating costs associated with these activities.
